Meet the team

Lori Sperling | Founder / Creator

Originally from East Los Angeles, Lori moved to the Bay Area after getting engaged.  She has lived and been a part of the Marin community for 25 years.  She is outnumbered in her San Anselmo home 5-1...one hubby, 3 boys and one labradoodle, Champ. With a passion for everything design, she decided, after 17 years of being a “mommager” to pursue her creative voice. What started out as a 2 woman team (with lots of unpaid help from the hubbies) organically grew into the amazing crew it is today.

Lori gravitates towards textured, earthy tones and warm, natural elements.  She’s always on the hunt for those impactful, unique, found items, pairing old with new to create cozy and interesting spaces!

Her inspiration comes from travel along with a deep appreciation for different cultures, artists, makers and entrepreneurs.   She is especially driven by supporting other female entrepreneurs in the community, which is part of the vision behind using the word “collective” in the company name.  Fun facts:  Lori was a hedge fund trader in LA and SF prior to becoming a “mommager” and entrepreneur.  She loves lake life, wake surfing and car dancing.

Ashley Ruiz | Senior Stylist

A founding member of the team, Ash is originally from Los Angeles and now lives in the Bay Area with her husband (who she met when she was a hair stylist and he walked into her barber shop!), amazing baby girl and three sweet furry ones.  She loves mixing modern with Bohemian to add warmth, and is inspired by Leanne Ford’s formula for “creating spaces with soul, places that feel good to be in.”  Fun fact: If she had to leave her native country, she would go to Costa Rica for the friendly people, warm weather, fresh food, ocean, jungles and mountains.

Emily Janowsky | Logistics Manager

Emily grew up in San Francisco, but has lived in Marin since 2004.  She currently lives with her husband, teenage son Sam and furry dog Rocket.  Her favorite color is navy since it reminds her of her son Nick who is at the Naval Academy.  And when Em is at the warehouse, she is firing on all cylinders, entertaining the whole team with her wit and antics.  Fun fact- she has a love for adventure from skydiving on her 21st birthday to climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro to celebrating her 45th birthday with the Escape from Alcatraz triathlon...and a tattoo!

Lori Holscher |

Project Manager

The newest member of the team, Lori was born in San Diego, but grew up in Oregon and will always have a soft spot in her heart for the Pacific Northwest. She currently lives in Marin with her husband and sweet dog Harley.  She’s happiest when all three of her kids are back home.  (2 in college, and one in the Army)  Her favorite color palette is charcoal, cream, camel and black. Lori traded dumbbells and spandex for a tool box when she joined TSC as a project manager. After 20 years in the fitness/yoga world she’s bringing her high energy, disciplined approach to our amazing team of women!

Allison Rothbart | Logistics Director

Born in NY and raised in LA, Allison now lives in Corte Madera with her husband, two children (17, 16) and her 100 pound dog. She tends to lean towards wearing black but prefers neutrals in the home, and she is constantly creatively inspired by the women she works with. Al is known for taking good care of the team. We always know what we’re doing and when we’re doing it thanks to her! Fun fact: She worked as a merchandiser for Levi's for 10+ years then took a break to raise her kids. She started working at Still Collective just to help out and was delighted when it turned into a new career!

Design

Caroline Stein | Designer

Originally from the East Coast, Caroline fell in love with the California lifestyle and landscape during college and has been here ever since. She now lives in San Anselmo with her husband, two mountain bike racing teens and an Australian Shepherd named Blue.  Caroline has long had a passion for design, loves the color white and gravitates towards neutral interiors layered with interesting textiles.  Fun fact - She used to be a Dailey Method instructor and still enjoys taking barre classes as often as she can (even it means waking up at 6am)

Erika Miller | Designer

Originally an east coast girl, Erika moved to San Francisco 20 years ago. She now lives in Corte Madera with her 3 daughters, but still considers Rochester, NY "home" and loves a good garbage plate. Her fashion and design styles are similar, layering earthy neutrals with varying textures. She loves a good high-low look with quality staples and bargain finds. Fun fact about Erika is she's been a cake decorator since she was a teenager working in an ice cream shop and bakery and has a chemical engineering degree. She's equally creative and tech savvy!

Retail

Jennifer Dubiel | Store Manager

Jenny is a Boston girl (you can take the girl out of Boston but you can't take Boston out of the girl) who lives in San Anselmo with her two teenage daughters and two dogs. Her style obsession is a hat, and a cozy boho chic look sprinkled with a little western. Fun fact about Jenny is that she can turn on her wicked cool Boston accent at the drop of a hat, especially after watching her beloved movies "The Departed" and "The Town".

Marketing & Operations

Vanessa Vasquez | Social Media Manager

Vanessa was born and raised in Los Angeles and now lives in beautiful Marina Del Rey with her husband, 2 kids, and their Frenchie.  Her color choices gravitate towards all shades of nude.  Vanessa’s fun fact is that people think she’s very social but is in fact an introvert.  She really appreciates alone time and moments of silence to balance her life.  She is our go-to fashion expert, and is a talented make-up artist too!
